From the Chanel Islands to IJmuiden
Three out of five (larger) Channel Islands we’ve seen: interesting Jersey, touristic Guernsey, quiet Alderney ..! (The other two: Sark and Herm).
Alderney still has few facilities for large ships, so it is more idyllic / rural than the other two islands. Yet also here they have started building a lot and the “progress” does not stop …

Yesterday morning, July 31, we’ve left Alderney and with a calm sea with little wind (but a lot of current with or against us…!) the Anne-Margaretha is heading along the French and Belgian coast towards the Netherlands. Via Marine Traffic you can follow her well! (also via our website: Travel stories / Anne-Margaretha Live).
We expect them Sunday in the late afternoon (exact time comes Sunday morning on the home page !!) in the locks of IJmuiden. Monday morning than to her “winter” berth in Spaarndam ..! That will be the end of this trip, the last leg of a world tour of almost one year ..!
Greet (via Heinz)
