W1. Den Helder-Bergen
April 24 – May 4 2020
This combined sailing-hiking holiday starts in The Netherlands: Den Helder.
After about 3 days of non-stop sailing across the North Sea with the Anne-Margaretha, the mountains of Norway will loom in the distance. We always look forward to our reunion with this country and its hundreds of fjords! We set course for Stavanger where will stretch our legs, rediscovering this lovely old port.
From Stavanger, we sail to the Lysefjord where we moor at the foot of the Preikestulen, a rocky massif of 600 m. We’ll make the steep climb (about 1.5 hours), from where you have a spectacular view! If this is too much hiking, you can also take a bus from a small harbor in the neighbourhood up to the Preikestulen.
Then the trip continues, and we’ll sail day trips in sheltered waters and along the most beautiful places to the north. Of course we will visit the impressive Hardangerfjord and the picturesque, beautiful village of Sundal.
On this trip, we try to moor somewhere different every day, for your walking and visiting pleasure.
We will arrive in the lively city of Bergen in the evening of May 10, or the following morning of May 11!
Please note that we are always dependent on the wind and the weather.
This trip ends on May 4 at 12.00 pm in Bergen. Book a flight home at the end of that day. Better yet: book a ho(s)tel that night and fly out the next day. The scenery here is definitely worth a closer look!
