G3. Bodø- Tromsø (Lofoten trip)
May 27- June 6 2019
!!BOOKED UP!!
This trip goes (according to the Norwegians …) through the most beautiful part of Norway: the Lofoten!
During day trips we’ll sail along idyllic fjords and villages. This is an excellent trip for bird watchers/lovers and photographers (the enchanting light!!!)
We start in Bodø on the mainland of Norway. The Anne-Margaretha sails to Reine, our first stop on the Lofoten. Maybe we will spend the first day in the Ofoten ( the mainland), because there we know of a beautiful bay with a nice beach!
From Reine we go to the intimate Nusfjord, where we are in an old harbor beautifully located between the mountains, which also boasts of a museum and a lovely walking area. Here we will stay at least 2 nights.
Then the ship continues along the coast towards Henningsvaer (nice harbor!), where we spend the night.
The next day we’ll sail to the mysterious Trollfjord. This fjord is impressive because of the narrow passage with enormous mountains alongside. Fortunately, there is a small jetty at the end of this fjord, where the Anne-Margaretha can moor (and there is even wifi!) From here, you can take a walk up to a mountain hut where you (probably) can take a sauna: collect wood yourself. Many of our guests have good memories of this!
We leave the Trollfjord the next day and hope to spot killer whales now (…!!) The journey continues via Lødingen to the north until we finally arrive in cozy Tromsø.
During the Lofoten trip we sail relatively short distances, so our trip is leisurely, and we will have enough time to see everything. It will be breeding season and we will be surprised by sea eagles, puffins and many other birds.
The Lofoten is an area with beautiful anchorages. We will look for what is the most fun / best for the wind, etc.
