P18 Patagonia
The PATAGONIA Trip with the Anne-Margaretha: March 11 - April 4, 2018 (FULLY BOOKED))
This voyage begins in Ushuaia (Arg.) or in Puerto Williams, Chile, across from Ushuaia on the southern point of the continent, and heads north along the spectacular island-dotted coast to Puerto Montt, located on a bay surrounded by national parks. During the first portion of the trip, we sail through the Beagle Channel, and then north through the Strait of Magellan. Among the thousands of islands and beautiful bays (called Calletas) where, depending on the weather conditions, we will moor and explore the landscape. The intention is to sail calmly, stopping frequently for hikes. We are very familiar with Patagonia, having made this trip several times, and are equipped with extensive charts and plots of the area…. Puerto Montt is the terminus for this part of the journey.

Patagonia, The Land of the Bigfeet ...
Sailing with the Anne-Margaretha through Patagonia, you find yourself alone in the world ... A world where nature is still largely untouched, and where the sea creatures greet us with curiousity. Patagonia has for centuries been a magical attraction for explorers, climbers and other visitors. Unlike the rest of South America, it is an area with moderate and cold climates. Along the narrow strip on the west Chilean coast, there is a sequence of fjords, rainforest and volcanoes.
Southern Patagonia is an area of large continental ice sheets. Dozens of glacial tongues flow to the west into the sea. This is also the land of the fascinating stormy skies!
Besides killer whales and other sea creatures, the condor can often be spotted here, as well as many other birds....
To preserve nature in Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego there are now more than 38 national parks and reserves.
