Looking back
Greenland and Iceland were new destinations for us. The trip to Greenland was very impressive for everyone: sailing between 2000 m high mountains, huge icebergs, beautiful sunsets and sunrises and the Northern Lights! And not to mention the whales…!
Deeply impressed, we arrived in Iceland a second time, which we totally enjoyed.
Greenland/Iceland will not be on our program in 2020, but who knows about 2021 ..!

On the way home…
The Anne-Margaretha has now started the last route of summer 2019: she sails from Iceland to the Faroe Islands and then via the Shetland Islands, possibly even bypassing Scotland, to IJmuiden, the Netherlands.
Looking at the wind forecasts, we may have to skirt many storms.
The ship is expected back on October 1st at Marina Seaport, IJmuiden.

A new home port
Our familiar mooring place at the Rietpol shipyard has unfortunately disappeared: the yard has been sold and the new owner does not want any more ships there.
Fortunately, we can go to Den Helder at the former government yard Willemsoord where we will spend the winter.
Would you like to visit the ship there? Make an appointment with us, because we will not always be on board.
However, we still have a week left on the slip at IJmuiden in early October; which is why our last trip will end there.

2020 season
Of course we are already looking forward to the next sailing season! Again in 2020 we will sail along the Norwegian fjord coast to Spitsbergen and back. (Two Lofoten trips this time!).
Our Sailing Program has been on the website for some time and there is already interest in all trips. If you would like to take part in one or more trips, make sure you are not too late with booking: this past season we have had to disappoint too many people …

Enjoy the early autumn and we hope to see many of you (back) aboard the Anne-Margaretha!

Sailors greetings,

Greet and Heinz
