A rather different Newsletter than usual…
The entire world is in the grip of the novel coronavirus/Covid-19….
We are all trying to survive this together, and yet from a distance: taking care of each other and ourselves…
We hope that you and your loved ones will weather this crisis safely, and that we can sail again, experiencing the freedom of the seas, on holiday, while enjoying the closeness of human relationships once again!
Of course this international pandemic means a lot to all ships in the Dutch and foreign fleet. When can we sail again, what does it mean for this summer season, how should we continue ??
Alternative plans
Heinz and I have put together an alternative plan, with various scenarios for different dates.
We are now at this stage: “Everything closed until April 28”.
Optimistic as always, we have started now with this scenario 1: Trips W1 and W2 would be combined, departing 2 weeks later than originally planned (on 7 May.) According to this scenario, from journey W3 on (Lofoten trip W1), everything would go according to the original plan.
For the different scenario to transpire, 3 strict conditions would have to occur:
1. The Netherlands and Norway would give us the green light
2. All exchange ports would be reachable by plane
3. Passengers must be perfectly healthy upon boarding: without cold or flu symptoms!!!
Once we have made a decision, we will immediately communicate it to the guests concerned. You can rest assured that we will do our utmost to make as many trips as possible. However, our collective health is paramount and we definitely will not take unwise risks.
The Anne-Margaretha is patiently waiting in Den Helder. We are prepared! Now we all watch the course of the virus with all its implications….
We wish you all great strength, optimism and above all good health from the bottom of our hearts.
Hopefully see you soon on board the Anne-Margaretha.
Warm greetings,
Greet and Heinz
